I always have to work around Ym to get him in the mood to do school work. I usually have to do things you wouldn't even imagine. But this is no secret... So, if you see me one day wearing a big red clown nose, don't be surprised!
MATEMÁTICA / MATH
***
This is the little case I use to present Ym the numerals. We call it the surprise number box---but, as you can see, it is no box, what so ever.
***
Here, I presented the #6 and Ym counted 6 footballs.

He also counted 6 gummi bears and shaped them into #6.

This looks like milk caps counting, but it is NOT.

It's clay balls counting. The milk caps were used to help Ym place the clay balls in pairs. ;)

***
Doing a little of homemade geometry. He did mention the triangle being a right-angled triangle. I'm sure this comes from listening his big brother.
***
We used this sandpaper globe to present the concepts of land, water and Planet Earth, our home. The red dot was used to locate Puerto Rico.
ARTE / ART

I decided a while back to retouch my homemade sandpaper numerals with yellow paint. And, of course, Ym was willing to colaborate. But Ym's mother had a crisis and preferred to have him do this substitute work...
(Just imagine a 3 year old painting sandpaper numerals that had been already glued to cardstock!) So, I let him elaborate his own "sandpaper numeral". He chose the black paint himself. :-o
Su obra de arte: UN ARCOIRIS.

ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in Montessori Monday! I LOVE the suprise number box - what a cute idea! I'll have to remember that one when Pita Pocket is old enough for it.
